Subject: Social Ecology Association Hi there fellow
social ecologists,
Just from your wonderful response at the last event and the application forms I have since received from the residential, I feel wonderfully positive about your support. If any of you would like to offer practical assistance (or any other) please let me know. Those of you who have paid fees may be wondering what is happening to them. Pending further discussion I would like to leave this issue in abeyance. The monies (around $300) is currently in trust until we decide about legalising this "organic entity" called the social ecology association or leaving it fluid with your monies held in trust until we see which way this "entity" develops. I favour the latter at this stage and would like to discuss it further with David Wright when he returns from leave at the end of August. Kathy Adam is able to do minimal work for us because of her workload but the Uni can cover postage and an amount of admin. costs. We still plan to hold events in the near future and will keep you posted. I look forward to hearing from you. Warm regards

Due to the changes, I feel the need to call for a Committee. "We need people to put their hands up." One Way I have designed a websitewhich can be used as a bulletin board amongst other things. Coincidently, Julie and I turned up at The St James Ethics Centre last week to a panel speak on the Ethics of Writing. It was conducted by Philip Adams with a lively cast including the Prof. of Social Work & Peace and Conflict Studies, Stuart Rees. We both recognise events glue our social 'islands' together and as such you'll find more of what you're really interested in posted on the Social page (especially if you post me yours!) John |
